Metrics from an OpenTelemetry Collector or SDK over OTLP/HTTP, as protobuf or JSON, gzip or not: gauges, cumulative sums (as counters) and histograms (as .count and .sum counters), written into one metric object.
Use cases
- Put spanmetrics in the collector to turn traces into request rate, error and latency metrics.
- Give the exporter this event source's address and secret: endpoint is the address, and the header Authorization: Bearer <secret>.
