Any mirror that keeps each snapshot at its own path — snapshot.ubuntu.com and snapshot.debian.org by timestamp, a reposync tree by date on your own web server. There is no list to read: name the snapshot (its timestamp or path segment) when promoting ring 1.
Use cases
- A rollout's first ring takes the snapshot you name (this source has no list to read); later rings take it from the ring before, after its soak time. A Linux patch channel (the linux-patching pack) holds each ring's hosts to its snapshot with a managed repository file.
